Speaker - Tahir Masood
Sunday, October 25, 2015 Liberty Chapel has been presented with a unique opportunity – to host a family from Pakistan. Tahir Masood, his wife Fouzia, son and three children arrived in the United States on October 19. Our association with Tahir began late last year when the missions committee promoted a special offering for the children at Agape Pakistan, an organization started in 1995 for education and health of children in Pakistan. In their Primary School, the students are enrolled free of cost and are given books, uniforms, etc. for their education. Our special offering bought clothes, coats, boots and socks for the school children. Tahir’s goal is for his family to experience life in the U.S., meet our church members to express his appreciation for our support, and to visit other churches to share the mission of Agape Pakistan in hopes of gaining further support for this organization. The Missions committee would like you to prayerfully consider how you may assist in accommodating Tahir and his family. Our first request is for prayer support for the Masood family for traveling mercies and good health. We’ve taken a step of faith in suggesting that we could provide housing, transportation and meals for that time period. Housing could mean for one week, two weeks, or the entire time period they are visiting us. We are in the process of contacting local churches in an effort to set up visits to assist with sharing the work of Agape Pakistan. Transportation will be needed for those visits (which may be during the day, on a Sunday morning, or an evening visit), as well as possibly showing them around our area and sharing with them what life in Liberty Center and northwest Ohio is like. We would also hope that you would be willing to have them in your home for a meal, or assist with a meal wherever they may stay. The website for the Agape Pakistan is shown below. If you are able to assist in any of these requests, please contact Pastor Brad or Carla Gillen. http://agapepakistan.wix.com/website |
