The Epworth Project January 29 to February 5, 2022
On January 29, a team of 9 members of Liberty Chapel traveled to Slidell, Louisiana for a week-long mission trip. The 9 members included Tom & Lowynn Atkinson, Dan Bare, Louise Dalton, Max & Pat Fetterman, Brittany Gillen, and Joe & Carla Gillen. This year our team worked at several locations. Work included replacing skirting around a mobile home, several on-campus projects, bathroom repairs and floor tile installation at two locations, kitchen sink repair, floor repair in a bedroom, and ceiling repairs in a home (a home we had also visited in 2016 to help with hurricane repairs). The great thing about mission trips is that it’s not all work. We enjoyed our “annual” trip to the “Old Town Slidell Soda Shop”, watching football games on our “projector”, playing card games, and just enjoying each other’s company. The Epworth Project strives to bring hope and comfort to those in the community who are considered to be the least, the last, and the lost by providing volunteer services that offer the opportunity to change the lives of both the client and the volunteer.
