Haiti Mission Trip April 3-12, 2017
We again had a team of people travel to Haiti on a mission trip to work on homes and other projects in Haiti. Going on the trip were Joe Gillen, Dan Bare, Pastor Tom, Sue Krugh, Darren Estelle, Jacob Clapp, Libbey Eicher, John & Kathy Hartford, Jacob Plassman, Jeff & Julia Morrill and Pastor Brad. Thank you for your support! The January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti killed 220,000 people, wounded 300,000, destroyed the equivalent of 120% of GDP and is estimated to have set development back by a decade. The Haiti mission strives to bring hope and comfort to those in the community who continue to struggle with poverty and the aftermath of the earthquake and hurricanes that plague the island by providing volunteer services that offer the opportunity to change the lives of both the client and the volunteer. The Missions Committee now supports the church projects of pastor Rayburn Sanon in Haiti. We have partnered with this church for several years for the mission trips. The Haiti Mission Team will be collected items to be distributed during their mission trip. Items the team took included:
As a fund raiser, the Haiti Mission team served breakfast on March 12th during the Sunday School hour. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, made to order breakfast burritos and coffee cake were served.
