Middle School Youth Mission Trip - June 26-28, 2017
From June 26-28, the Junior High group from Liberty Chapel joined with Huntington Nazarene Church to serve the city of Ann Arbor. We went to Ann Arbor Monday morning and left Wednesday afternoon. We spent the 2 days having fun, learning about Christ, and serving. We spent one day serving at Avalon Housing, a place that provides low-income housing, by helping them clean up their housing sites. We spent the day picking up trash, pulling weeds, and doing general beautification around these homes. The next day we went to Atria Park nursing home and served by interacting with their residents. We helped in their memory care unit and also participated alongside them in their activities which included gardening club, exercise class, and a trivia game. It was a great experience and a lot of Junior High students learned what it really meant to serve like Jesus served.
In the group picture below, there are people from the church in Huntington, Indiana that joined us. From our church, we had Tom Gerberich, Kara Estelle, Johanna Clapp, Evan Cramer, Isaiah Estelle, Emmett Perry, Sami Graber, Sarah Graber, Ellie Craft, Hope Oelkrug, Audrey Bowers, and Aubre Hollenbaugh.
