Special Message 3-31-2020
After a soggy weekend, the sun came out yesterday. This is good grass growing weather. If we have many more days like that, we’ll have to start mowing. Spring is coming!
I miss you all. You are all in my prayers. I pray that you stay healthy. I look forward to the time when we will be able to gather again. Like Spring, that is also on its way. But not yet.
The Governor’s stay at home order runs through April 5. The President extended his slow the spread initiative through April 30. So, I don’t expect to gather together in April. If we are allowed to gather sooner, we can have a surprise celebration!
This coming Sunday, April 5, is Palm Sunday. We normally begin with a procession of palms. Email or text me a picture of you and/or our family waving a “palm branch”. You can make one from construction paper or you can sit in a sidewalk chalk picture or you can wave a plant or an object that you have at your home. You can be seriously joyful or funny. If have enough pictures, I will make a photo montage for our online worship.
I also plan to lead us in communion. Bishop Palmer has declared this situation “in extremis” and will allow you to gather communion elements. I will ask God to bless them during our online worship. You and your family are invited to partake with all of us. While he said that grape juice or grape flavored drink and bread are best, it will be up to the discretion of each family to decide what to use.
I am panning online services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. We will gather virtually and celebrate together spiritually.
I am still open. If you need anything, please call the parsonage. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I want to stay connected. Let me know your joys and concerns.
We will not have office hours. Kara Estelle will come in infrequently to pay bills and care for essential business. I will pick up the church’s mail and check the answering machine.
Thank you to Cheryl Shadday and others who have organized the child and family lunch program from the Rock.
Thank you to our band members for leading our initial online service. Thank you to Darren Estelle and Mark Jones for helping with production.
You can find our worship services on YouTube by typing “Liberty Chapel Liberty Center” in the search box. Our channel is

We are still funding missions and ministries around the world and around our community. We still have bills to pay. You can mail your offerings to the church or drop them off at the parsonage. You may want to try online giving; the church’s website has a link to help you sign up. If you need help, call me. Carla Gillen and Louise Dalton will continue to count and deposit our offerings. Thank you for your faithful giving.
The church’s website is constantly updated and has a lot of useful information. www.libertychapel.net. Thank you, Steve Seagrave, for your work with this ministry.
I encourage the youth group, Sunday School classes, and other small groups to find a way through social media or the telephone to keep in touch. You can continue to have virtual meetings and classes. If you need help figuring out how to do that, contact me, and I will find someone who can help you.
I have seen farmers moving equipment around. Seeds are ready to move from the barn to the fields. We only need to wait for the ground to warm. Spring is coming!
We will gather together soon. Spring is coming!
See you sometime,
